Factual information, not advice. Every company is measured the same way, against published criteria. Nothing here recommends a firm, plan or trade, or knows your circumstances.
The short version
- Best overall right now: FTMO (7.5/10), then The5ers and FundedNext.
- Best reputation: The5ers. Most room in the rules (of the firms with reviews): FTMO.
- Cheapest $100K challenge priced in dollars: Blue Guardian at $398.
- 4 of 14 firms have had their Trustpilot rating taken down. That alone is a reason to look twice.
How we ranked them
Every firm gets two scores, and we show both. The rules score asks how much room the published rules leave you on a funded account: loss limits, drawdown type, news, weekends, leverage. The reputation score looks at what's on record about the firm: its reviews (adjusted for volume and for firms that pay to ask for them), its payout terms, whether it names the company you sign with, and how long it's been around.
The overall number is 40% rules and 60% reputation. We lean on reputation because a generous rule book is worth nothing if the payout never arrives. And a firm with no reviews at all doesn't get a top-three spot, however good its rules look.
We compare every firm at the same account size, $100K, using its best plan at that size. Anything a firm doesn't publish scores zero. We don't guess, and we don't fill gaps from review sites. The full method is one page long.

Picks by what you need
A single “best” list hides the fact that traders want different things. So here are a few narrower picks.
Firm by firm
Short notes on every firm, in ranking order. The chips come straight from the records, and each name links to the full page with every rule and its source.
- $100K: €499Static max lossNews: AllowedWeekend: AllowedSplit 80% to 90%Trustpilot 4.8 (52,652)3 company flags
The oldest firm on this list and the best known. Funded traders can trade the news and hold over the weekend, and FTMO covers the cost of sending your payout. The one thing we'd want fixed: its pages don't name the company you actually sign the contract with.
- $100K: $455Static max lossNews: No trades ±2 minWeekend: AllowedSplit 80% to 100%Trustpilot 4.7 (38,077)
The strongest reputation on the site. It's one UK company with a registration number you can look up yourself, which is rarer than it should be. The funded news rule is a short no-trade window rather than a profit cut. You pay the transfer fee, and there's a long list of payout conditions worth reading first.
- $100K: $549.99Static max lossNews: 40% of profit ±5 minWeekend: AllowedSplit 80% to 95%Trustpilot 4.5 (79,665)4 company flags
Huge following, with more Trustpilot reviews than any other CFD firm we track. On a funded account, trades near big news only count for part of their profit. You contract with a company in the Comoros, and there are a lot of payout conditions to get through.
- $100K: $549Trailing, on closed balance max lossNews: AllowedWeekend: AllowedSplit 90%Trustpilot 4.3 (6,264)3 company flags
One of the better rule sets here, and funded traders can trade the news freely. Two things hold it back: no company registration number on its pages, and a maximum loss that follows your closed balance up, which is tighter than a fixed limit.
- $100K: €497Static max lossNews: No trades ±5 minWeekend: AllowedSplit 80% to 100%Trustpilot rating taken down5 company flags
Looks good on the rules. The company behind it was only registered in 2025, though, and Trustpilot has taken its rating down. We would not ignore that second point.
- $100K: $652Static max lossNews: No trades ±5 minWeekend: Not allowedSplit 80% to 100%Trustpilot 4.5 (69,148)3 company flags
Cheap to start and very widely reviewed, but its rules score is the lowest of the reviewed firms. Weekend holds are switched off on funded accounts for now, and a striking system can cut your profit split for good. We wrote a full FundingPips review below.
- $100K: $530Static max lossNews: Profit capped at 1% ±5 minWeekend: AllowedSplit 80% to 95%Trustpilot rating taken down6 company flags
The rules are fine. The problems are elsewhere: Trustpilot has taken its rating down, the company dates from 2025, and it has the longest list of payout conditions we've counted anywhere.
- $100K: $477Trailing, on closed balance max lossNews: No trades ±5 minWeekend: AllowedSplit 80% to 90%Trustpilot rating taken down2 company flags
A UK company with a number you can check, which counts for a lot. But Trustpilot has taken its rating down, and its tighter plans use a maximum loss that trails your closed balance.
- $100K: $599Static max lossNews: AllowedWeekend: AllowedReviews not checked yet3 company flags
The most generous rules of any CFD firm here. It ranks low overall because there is almost nothing else on record yet: the company was registered in 2026, and we haven't checked its reviews or payout terms. Low here means unproven, not bad.
- $100K: $549Static max lossNews: AllowedWeekend: AllowedReviews not checked yet1 company flag
Generous rules and news trading allowed. Its pages name several companies but never say which one owes you your payout. Reviews and payout terms not checked yet.
- $100K: $488Trailing, on closed balance max lossNews: No trades ±5 minWeekend: AllowedSplit 80% to 100%Trustpilot rating taken down3 company flags
Quick first payout on paper, but tight loss limits that trail your balance. No company registration number on its pages, and Trustpilot has taken its rating down.
- $100K: $569Static max lossNews: 0% of profit ±3 minWeekend: AllowedReviews not checked yet1 company flag
Decent rules, not much else on record. No registration number published, and we haven't checked its reviews or payout terms yet.
- $100K: $746Static max lossNews: No trades ±4 minWeekend: Not allowedReviews not checked yet2 company flags
Skips the evaluation, which is why it costs more. Weekend holds are off, and the company was registered in Saint Lucia in 2025.
- $100K: $398Trailing, on closed balance max lossNews: No trades ±5 minWeekend: AllowedReviews not checked yet2 company flags
Last on our list today. It names several companies without saying which one pays you, shares its registered address with other firms here, and we haven't checked its reviews or payout terms yet.
Things that should slow you down
None of these mean a firm won't pay you. They're just the things we'd want to know before handing over a challenge fee, and they come up a lot.
- A Trustpilot rating that's been taken down. Trustpilot removes a rating when it finds fake reviews. The reviews stay up, but the stars go. It's rare, and you should treat it as serious.
- An offshore contracting company. Plenty of firms run from Dubai or London but sign you up with a company in the Comoros or Saint Lucia. It's legal. It also decides where you'd have to go if there's a dispute.
- “$100M paid out” with no date. A total without a period tells you very little. Paid out since when? Over how many traders?
- A trailing maximum loss. Only 10 of the 14 plans in the table use a fixed limit. A trailing one follows your best balance up, so a normal pullback after a good run can end the account.
- A long list of payout conditions. Consistency rules, minimum days, news windows. You'll find them all quoted on Getting paid.
Picking one for you
Rankings are a starting point. What matters is whether a firm's rules fit the way you already trade. A scalper who never holds overnight and a swing trader who holds through NFP need completely different firms.
- 1. Answer six questions in Find your match. It checks every plan against your style and drops the ones that don't fit.
- 2. Compare prices and value on Best plans, which ranks every plan on rules and price together.
- 3. Run your numbers through the payout calculators: your risk, reward and win rate, against that plan's real limits.
- 4. Read the firm's reputation breakdown and its reviews before you pay.
Trading futures instead? We cover those separately in the best futures prop firms guide, because the rules work differently. And if you day trade, read funded accounts for day trading first.

What is the best CFD prop firm in 2026?
On our numbers today, FTMO, at 7.5 out of 10. That blends how much room its rules give you (40%) with its reputation (60%). The best one for you depends on how you trade, so run your style through Find your match before you decide.
What is a CFD prop firm?
A firm that sells you a challenge on a simulated account where you trade CFDs: forex, gold, indices, oil, crypto. Pass, and you trade a funded account and keep a share of the profit. Our guide to prop firms explains the whole thing from the start.
Are CFD prop firms legit?
Some are well established, some are brand new, and you can't tell which from the marketing. Check who you contract with, whether Trustpilot has flagged the firm, and what can stop a payout. Every firm page here shows all three.
Why is a firm with great rules ranked low?
Because rules are only 40% of the score. A firm with very generous rules and no track record can still sit near the bottom until there's something on record about how it treats traders. See the rules-only ranking if rules are all you care about.
Do firms pay to be ranked here?
No. Some links earn us a commission, and those links say so. The scoring code is not allowed to read that data at all, and a test fails the build if it tries. Affiliate disclosure has the details.
Rankings are calculated live from the records behind the site at $100K; rules last checked 27 Sep 2026. Our notes on each firm were written on 29 Sep 2026. None of this is financial advice.
